This accumulation of nest materials results in bald eagles building the largest nests of any North American bird, up to 13 feet deep, 8.2 feet wide, and 1.1 tons in weight. A pair of bald eagles may use a nest until the nest itself becomes so large that the tree can no longer support it and it comes crashing down!!!
